Sex Fact #347

Multi-national computer corporation, IBM has been named the best place to work for lesbian, gay and bisexual people. This was the second time in four years that IBM has topped the list.

The survey was conducted by Stonewall, the lesbian, gay and bisexual charity, which publishes its Top 100 Employers list annually, showcasing Britain’s best employers for gay staff.

In second place is Hampshire Constabulary and Ernst & Young comes third in the survey, based on a range of key indicators, with over 7,000 participants. The British Police Force did very well on the list with 11 places.

Gay staff working at the top 25 workplaces reported a satisfaction level almost ten per cent higher than workplaces outside the Top 100. Staff were also more likely to disclose their sexual orientation in monitoring exercises at the highest ranking organizations.
