During the Middle Ages, women were discouraged by the Church, from having orgasms and were told it would prevent them having children. However, despite the Church's view, during the Middle Ages, the accepted science of the time was a woman's 'seed' wouldn't germinate without orgasm. They, of course, believed in the 'two seed' theory.
